Interstate Roofing, Inc., of Portland, Oregon, has received the most prestigious contractor award GAF offers: The GAF President’s Club Award. This highly coveted award recognizes Interstate Roofing as one of the “elite of the elite” commercial roofing contractors in the United States.
GAF is North America’s largest roofing manufacturer, and only GAF Master Select(TM) Contractors can compete for its commercial President’s Club Award. To qualify for this award, a commercial roofing contractor must meet specific criteria in at least one out of three different pathways: the Performance pathway, where contractors focus on giving their property owners the best possible service, quality, and protection; the Reliability pathway, where the contractor has a long history of offering their customers the best quality and protection; and the Service pathway, where contractors consistently offer their customers the best protection available in the marketplace.
Interstate Roofing has been a GAF Master Select(TM) Contractor since 1999; the company received the President’s Club Award due to its excellent performance in 2016. To become a Master Select(TM) Contractor–a status that less than 1% of roofing contractors nationwide are able to achieve–a candidate must demonstrate proper licensing, maintain insurance (in states that require it), have a proven reputation, and show commitment to ongoing professional training.
By focusing on safety, customer service, and quality, Interstate Roofing has raised the bar in exterior improvement for both commercial and residential customers. “Our experienced team understands and appreciates our customers, our community, and the value of family,” according to president Shelley Metzler. “We draw on our collective strength to ensure that our work remains rooted in our family’s commitment to excellence and integrity.”
With more than 25 years of experience in residential and commercial roofing and siding, windows, gutters, attic insulation, carpentry, and repairs, Interstate delivers dependable, quality installations. “Not every job requires complete renovation,” says Metzler. “Proper maintenance ensures that a home is ready for every season. Our maintenance agreements meet the requirements of both the manufacturer’s warranty and Interstate’s workmanship warranty. We work to prolong the life of the roof and keep it looking its best. Customers with maintenance agreements receive priority access to our After-Hour Emergency Leak Response Team; they also receive priority in service, if there’s ever a leak.”
While maintaining its stellar service reputation, Interstate has also made a commitment to sustainability and the environment. “In 2014 alone, we disposed of more than 10 million pounds of construction-related debris, the majority of which was recycled rather than going to landfills,” states Metzler. “We’ve pledged to recycle the shingles removed during reroofing projects. We also offer a number of green products, such as Energy Star-rated shingles, skylights, and solar tubes and vents.” The family-run company is a GAF Certified Green Roofer(TM).
The winner of numerous manufacturer and business awards and certifications, Interstate is a certified Women’s Business Enterprise and a member of the National Roofing Contractors Association; it also maintains an A+ accreditation with the Better Business Bureau. The company has a long-term relationship with Habitat for Humanity and is actively involved with the Oregon and SW Washington chapter of the ALS Association.
